Fortunately, Beam Team has answered those calls with this latest update. The fan community surrounding the game had been asking for a multiplayer mode ever since the game’s 2020 release. As the game progresses, players will travel from island to island to obtain new materials and craft new weapons, eventually unlocking the ability to create helicopters for easier traversal. Like many other survival games, players will have to manage thirst, hunger, and even exposure to keep in shape for fights against sharks, boar, and giant squid. Players control a plane crash survivor stranded in the Pacific Ocean, exploring stranded islands as well as the tropical seas to find a way home. The update will go live on September 28 for the PS4 and PS5 and will be entirely free for those who already own the game. Make sure the ‘None' next to the controller is replaced with ‘P2.A new free update for Stranded Deep will add a multiplayer co-op mode to the game, allowing players to fight and survive together on a stranded island. Players can go to the Inputs option in the Options menu to ensure that Stranded Deep recognises the second controller. Two joysticks can also be used so it totally depends on your preference. Ensure that a controller is attached to the PC before beginning a Stranded Deep co-op game. One player will use the mouse and keyboard, while the other will use the joystick. Although it does not feel like a true co-op game, it is still a lot of fun and good enough for two friends to play together.

On the PC, the much lovable local co-operative mode gameplay is completely possible, but for this, the players will have to start sharing the screen. This does not alter for each update, so it's fair to say the developers never planned for this game to be shared. Each island has a finite amount of food and water, scarcely enough for one human, much less two. Stranded Deep was created with the goal of becoming a solo experience, and that will not change anytime soon.
